Survivor 8: Episode 15.5, the Reunion Summentary

The Mariano/Brkich hugs have been distributed and it's time to get back to business.

Jeff asks Rob if Amber just rode his coattails or if she was also making decisions. "A little of both," he replies. But he goes on to say they worked together the whole time. "She deserved 100% to win this."

Amber says she couldn't stand Rob before the game and made her alliance with him because it would be unexpected, and he'd "take all the bullets" because of his temper and personality. He certainly did that.

Jeff begins to ask Rupert, "Why did you guys not vote out--" but he's drowned out by the adoring crowd. Rupert responds with his other-trademark yelling. There are a lot of tie-dyeds in the audience. Rupert says he and Tom did talk about voting out Rob but Tom stuck with his alliance.

Amber's four votes were Tom, Lex, Alicia (bitter, party of three), and Shii Ann. Jeff asks if any of them would have voted for Rob against Jenna and Shii Ann says she would have. See, what a smart girl.

The Man goes to work on all this resentment. "Lex, the question for you is, you had done that same thing, to Colby, Ethan and Jerri." The crowd cheers in agreement. "So what's the difference here?" Lex says he didn't make a deal/alliance/promise with any of those three. The crowd boos. He adds, "Frankly, they didn't work into my plan."

Rich jumps in, saying it's not different. He says the game is a game, "and you should've known that coming in." Jeff joins in by comparing the game to poker. "Bluffing is a part of this game," he says. I always knew Jeff was a Dang Fun reader.

Mr. Probst then gets Kathy to admit there were strategic reasons as well for saving Amber. Rich is beside himself, saying that she's proving his point, and they wouldn't have considered helping their "friend" if they didn't think it'd benefit them in the game.

Tomgate is next. He says he still doesn't know what Rob was talking about. Rob point-blank asks if he had an alliance with Lex before the game started. Tom doesn't directly answer the question but he says, "Big Tom played the game with Amber and Rob." He repeats it, and says he never wavered. You know what? I believe him. I think, once again, Lex just had no clue as to what was going on.

Boooooo!!!

"I've got to say something," Jerri jumps in. "This whole thing is making me so sick." The crowd lets her have it. "This entertainment is coming at a price," she continues. She says they've had to sacrifice their friendships and feelings and have endured pain and suffering just for entertainment. Many more boos.

Colby gets a turn and gets screams from the ladies. He didn't use his Schick Quattro today. He has no problem with Rob and Amber and says they were successful at this very difficult game.

Rudy also gets big applause. "I'm glad I got voted off in the beginning." He says if he would have been around to see all the backstabbing it might have caused him to do something he would have regretted.

Cheers for Shii Ann. Jeff repeats her glass house quote and the audience agrees. Shii Ann says Tom did talk with her about voting off Rob, but she doesn't know if he was just lying to her.

Jeff asks if there's a chance of reconciliation between Rob and Tom. Tom says he doesn't care about the lying, "but I draw the line when he talked about my family--my son." Oh yeah, there was that too.

Rob responds by saying that Tom called him "pony" the whole time as in carrying Tom to the end. "I joked around with you," Rob says, "and I called you dumbass. And, you know what? One way or the other it was kinda like a term of endearment." Rob says he doesn't apologize for how he played the game, but he is sorry if he offended Tom's family in any way. He offers Tom his hand but Tom doesn't take it right away. Here we go again. But Tom finally shakes it and says it takes a big man to admit he was wrong.

Bluuuuuuuue!!!

We return from a commercial and Jerri is gone! She's a piece of work. Talks all the crap in the world but bolts when it gets a little warm. Please never return to the public eye.

Rob says he just talked to Amber's parents about the proposal this morning, and Amber didn't know it was coming. Amber says her feelings for Rob got serious after they were separated and she really missed him.

Jeff says one Survivor will give another one a car! But that's not the twist either.

The Host makes Jenna M. cry by asking how her family is doing with the loss of her mother. Good one, Jeff. Jenna confirms that she and Ethan are a couple too.

Sue says she had an "extreme makeover." Bah.

Vroooooom!!!

Jenna L. got married over the weekend! A single mom no more.

Richard says he "found love" after he got voted out. They sent him on a cruise (so that's what happens to them) and he fell for the guy behind the desk. Gah.

Amber gets to give away a Chevy Equinox to anyone other than Rob. She consults her fiancé while the crowd chants for Rupert. Rob tells her to do what she wants but asks her who the deciding vote was. Amber thinks about it and gives it to Shii Ann. Yay!

Finally, the "twist." There's a second million dollars! It will be awarded based on fan voting. Jeff gives the text messaging number. Bah and gah. Will Simon Cowell be there? Survivor is the original and should bow to no reality show.

Suuuuuuuue has
neeeeew booooooobs!!!

Everyone will be making their case for the million in video clips on the CBS website, so check them out if they haven't already taken them down. Once again you can bid on stuff from the show on ebay. (Oh my goodness--I went to ebay to see what all they've got, and somebody printed up "Don't be stupid, stupid" t-shirts with a hand pulling back from another hand. Gotta make that bootleg buck.)

Jeff closes by saying they are now casting for Survivor 10. That means at least two more seasons of goodness. Not gah.
