Survivor 17 Episode 6

Waa.

Night 15, and Ace wonders who will be the “Benedict Arnold” that keeps him in the game. The next morning Matty says he dreams every night about food, his dog and his girlfriend. In that order?

Ace and Matty talk alliance. Ace says, “You’ve got your Kenny, I’ve got my Sugar.” They agree to stick together and swear to kill some important people in their lives if they don’t.

Over at Kota Dan is eating more than everyone else. Bob and Corinne aren’t happy about it. You know things are going well when you complain about somebody having too MUCH food.

Fang on the other hand is almost out of rice. Ace tells Sugar he thinks the others went through her bag so they know she has the Hidden Immunity Idol. So she gives it to him. Why?! “Ace is kind of a snake, but he’s my snake.” Ah. That makes perfect sense.

At the Reward Challenge Randy sees that GC is gone and gives a huge fist-pump.

The Challenge is a twist on an old one. Each tribe is tied together and they have to carry a huge heavy snake. Both teams run in the same direction on an oval track and the first tribe to catch up to the other one wins croissants, pastries and coffee. Corinne sits out.

Fang gains in the early going but then Kelly slows down. Sugar, Kenny and Kelly all drop out leaving three people to carry the snake. It works at first but then Crystal fades and drops out. Matty and Ace are quickly overtaken.

Randy tauntingly eats and Crystal cries. Randy mutters, “Waa waa waa.” Sugar gets sent back to Exile Island. Crystal says when there’s a merge, “Old Fang and New Fang won’t get along.” Nice rhyming!

Sugar cries because she feels bad that she’s eating fruit while the rest of her tribe starves. How terrible is your tribe when you feel guilty for going to Exile Island?

Ace and Kelly talk about Crystal breaking down. Crystal goes after them and tells them they shouldn’t take her crying as a sign of weakness.

Kota catches a turtle and eats it. They’re like the Mario Brothers.

For the Immunity Challenge each tribe is divided into three tied-together pairs. Each pair goes through an obstacle course then there’s a flagpole puzzle at the end. Susie sits out.

The first leg is Bob & Randy vs. Kelly & Sugar. The girls take an early lead causing Jeff to say, “Fang looking strong.” A Crystalesque rhyme.

But Bob & Randy pass them up and Kota leads at the hand-off. Ace & Crystal close the gap against Corinne & Charlie but Kota still leads.

Matty & Kenny run the anchor leg and do some serious damage. They pass Dan & Marcus to take the lead!

It’s neck and neck going into the puzzle! Ace takes control of the pole and…pulls a Fang. Kota wins easy. Worst loss yet.

Crystal wants Ace out. Ace wants Kelly out. Matty wants to flush out the Idol. Ace says Matty doesn’t have to worry about the Idol. Matty agrees to vote for Kelly.

Matty talks to Crystal about voting off Kelly but Crystal wants to blindside Sugar or vote off Ace. Crystal tells Kenny she’s worried about Matty flipping. Kenny tells Matty what Crystal said and he asks about blindsiding Ace. Matty confesses he promised not to vote for Ace.

Kenny goes and talks to the only person left. Sugar tells him she gave the Idol to Ace. What the elephant?! Sugar then tells Ace she took the Idol back.

At Tribal Council Jeff points out they’ve only won two of the ten Challenges. Kelly says they can’t work together. Crystal calls out Ace for trying to do the flagpole by himself. Ace admits he should get most of the blame. Crystal says Ace deserves a vote for it. Kelly says Crystal’s tears make her look unstable. Crystal yells at her and says she was just frustrated. Kelly says Ace was talking about it too. Ace denies it. Kelly says Ace is double-talking and it’s “disgusting.”

Ace votes for Kelly, and Crystal says, “Forget you. Go home.”

Sugar doesn’t play Idol. The tally reads: Kelly, Crystal, Kelly, Kelly, Kelly.

Next time on…Survivor: Both tribes have to vote someone out and everybody talks about voting for everybody else.

So not only is Fang worthless in the Challenges but they can’t even form alliances right. Nobody can keep a secret so it’s impossible to stick to any sort of plan. Ace and Matty would be a decent alliance but they need Sugar who talks to Kenny who talks to everybody.

Fang isn’t strong because they don’t get along which is making this season long.
