Survivor 17 Episode 12

Have I got a deal for you.

But first, Dave writes in and shares a must-read behind-the-scenes Survivor article from MSNBC. You know if it says, "Can they bring tampons?" in the header it's not messing around.

Night 33, and Matty confronts Kenny about his vote. Kenny says Bob and Corinne told him they had an Idol but Matty calls him a liar. Sugar says her alliance is with Kenny and Crystal. Crystal regrets not voting for Matty.

Kenny confronts Bob about Corinne not playing the Idol. Bob admits it was fake. He tells us he feels guilty about it. Why? Bob tells Kenny he will give Kenny Immunity if he wins it. Again, why?

That was a busy night. And it’s only the beginning.

The Reward Challenge is running through a swamp to get balls and then shooting them through a small basketball hoop. The winner gets a helicopter ride to an overnight stay at a gorilla sanctuary.

Matty is the first to make the first two baskets followed by Bob. Matty is much quicker on the course so he has a sizable lead going into the last ball. But he misses shot after shot, allowing Bob to catch up. Bob shoots…and scores! Bob wins!

To no one’s surprise Bob gets to bring someone with him. He chooses…Crystal? Then Jeff says he gets to pick one more person! Bob quickly chooses Kenny. Bob then sends Susie to Exile.

Bob, Kenny and Crystal talk about voting off Matty. Kenny tells Bob he may let Bob keep the Necklace (if he wins it) and save the offer for later. That would be even dumber than Bob giving up Immunity.

Susie chooses comfort and eats fruit.

Day 35, and Sugar tells Matty he’s the biggest threat. She admits her alliance is with Crystal and Kenny. Sugar says her Idol is only good through the next Tribal. Matty says no one’s going to vote for her so she should give it to him.

The Rewarders get to keep their African robes. It looks like they got Kenny’s in the children’s section.

Back at camp Crystal gets mad at Matty for being mad at them. Sugar cries. Sugar tells Matty that she doesn’t like Crystal and Kenny anymore and she doesn’t want Matty to go. She says they’ll talk to Bob and Susie about voting out Crystal.

The Immunity Challenge is studying a mask, going through an obstacle course, and recreating the mask. Blindfolded.

Crystal completely gets turned around and can’t stay on the course. Matty makes the three trips to get all his pieces first but the others work on assembling one bag’s worth of pieces at a time.

Bob has his third bag as Matty has to go back to check the mask again. Bob thinks he’s done…but he’s wrong.

Susie wanders completely off the course. Kenny thinks he’s done…but he’s wrong. Bob thinks he’s done…and he’s right! Bob wins his fourth straight Challenge!

You just knew that would happen. Will Bob’s Dreamz come true?

Kenny tells Crystal he’s going to ask Bob for the Necklace, but then they’ll vote for Bob. Ouch.

Kenny tells Bob he’s scared and he wants Immunity. Bob tries to talk him out of it, saying the others won’t vote for him.

Crystal tells Matty and Sugar to vote for Bob. Kenny tells them to tell Bob they’re going to vote for Kenny so Bob will give Kenny the Necklace. Yes, I had to hit pause right there to get caught up.

Sugar…goes and spills the beans to Bob! She says they should vote out Crystal. Sugar cries. She says, “I just think the good guys should win in the end.”

Sugar tells Crystal and Kenny she thinks Bob will give Kenny the Necklace. Sugar tells Crystal she told Bob she’s voting for Kenny. Then Sugar tells Matty to let her do the thinking and to vote for Crystal.

Sugar tells us she’s keeping her Idol, and she hopes Matty and Bob trust her.

At Tribal Council Matty says he’s happy for Bob because it’s better that Bob has Immunity instead of someone of “less caliber.” Kenny admits he flopped on the last vote because he trusted Bob, and he says Bob promised to give him the Necklace. Bob says he will give it to Kenny if he thinks Kenny is in danger. Kenny says he’s in danger. Jeff reminds them tonight’s the last night to play the Hidden Immunity Idol and Sugar shows it’s around her neck. Bob says he didn’t make that one, but Jeff says it wouldn’t be the first time someone played a fake Idol. Cut to a very angry – and mohawked – Randy.

Jeff asks if Bob wants to give up the Necklace and Bob says he’s…KEEPING it! That that, anti-Yau-Man! Bob says he doesn’t think Kenny’s going home.

Crystal and Matty vote for each other and Sugar votes for Crystal.

Jeff asks if anyone wants to play a Hidden Immunity Idol and Sugar…gives the Idol to Matty!!!

The tally reads Matty, Matty, Crystal, Crystal and Crystal! Corinne whoops it up in the jury box.

Next time on…the Survivor finale: We don’t know because they don’t show us anything.

It turns out Susie also voted for Crystal so they had the votes anyway. But it was much more dramatic this way.

So Bob gives into his devious side after all. As Lorisa reminded me, Bob completely changed the deal. The first night he just said he’d give Kenny Immunity if he won it. Then it was going to be up to Kenny to take it or save it for later. Then it became Bob only giving it if Bob thought Kenny was in danger.

But you know what? Good for Bob. He needs to stop feeling guilty about deceiving people in a game of deception. He’s playing very well so he should just enjoy it. How you play in Survivor has nothing to do with who you are in real life.

And it’s a million times more profitable.
