Survivor 16 Episode 6

We have bonus drama!

Night 14 and Erik is still reeling from the Joel vote. He says you can’t trust the Favorites and says if the game has been “lowered” to lying then he might have to do some of that. You’re a Fan of which show again?

The next morning Tracy tells Erik all they have to do is get one of the Favorites to join them and they’ll be OK. She then goes to work on Ami. Ami says, “The more you’re poop-pants the sooner you’re going out.” Words to live by.

Ami tells us she’s not loyal to Ozzy, Amanda and Cirie and she’s keeping her options open.

Over at New Airai Eliza says she and Jonathan are going to work with the Fans to turn on James and Poverty.

For the Reward Challenge there are two wooden “tunnels.” Each tribe has ten minutes to tie planks and sticks into the other team’s tunnel then the first tribe to get through their tunnel wins a visit from two native Micronesians.

Natalie sits out instead of Jonathan, but they let him wait on the beach while they swim out for their materials without him. Malakal leads in the destruction but Airai finds a narrow way through without removing a bunch of wood, and they come from behind for the win.

Chet gets sent to Exile Island and Jason joins him from the winners.

Jonathan’s knee is in bad shape. The medic says the antibiotics aren’t working and he needs to go to a hospital because it won’t get better. Jonathan agrees to go but says, “I had this game too.” Sure you did. There’s a big teary goodbye. Kathy acts like her best friend just died.

So is that it for this week? Heck no, this is Survivor! We got ratings to make!

Back at camp James is not happy Jonathan is gone. He’s not looking forward to living with “a bunch of girls.”

The natives show up and their names are Edwin and Joe. Couldn’t they at least have given them stage names? They make a crab trap and fish.

At the other camp Amanda complains about the Fans and wants Chet out. Ami doesn’t like the “Fan-bashing.” She goes and talks to Tracy and they discuss voting out Cirie.

Over at Exile Island Chet tells Jason he thinks Ozzy already has the Idol. Chet also says he got some coral in his heel.

Jason goes looking anyway and finds Ozzy’s “Idol.” He admits it doesn’t look like much but he believes it’s legit. He tries to hide it in his pants. Not going to touch that one.

Before the Immunity Challenge Jeff asks Jason about the Hidden Immunity Idol and he says he thinks Ozzy already has it.

The task is using two “stepping poles” to move two tribemates from one elevated platform to another. Then everyone has to climb up and stand on a small platform at the same time.

Airai has Eliza squat down on one pole and they leave the other pole behind and just carry the single pole across. And by “they” I mean James.

But on their second trip Poverty falls off! Not only is it funny but it gives Malakal hope. The hope doesn’t last long as they get Poverty across a second time and then James stands in the middle and holds everybody up. Da man.

The losers return and Chet asks them to vote him out because his heel still hurts. Ozzy asks us, “Was there any question anyways?” I don’t know, Oz, ask Joel about that.

Tracy and Chet don’t want to give in to Chet’s wishes. They want to try and blindside Ozzy instead. Ami says she’s in if Chet’s in.

El Council de Tribal. Erik says Jason’s claim about Ozzy and the Idol made him think. Cirie says Jason may have the Idol himself. Ozzy says, “I’m not the one going home tonight.” Uh-oh. He says if he doesn’t get voted out tonight he’ll “get naked and jump off the pier.” Double uh-oh. Ozzy finishes by saying Chet is getting voted out. Chet says the obvious person doesn’t always get voted out.

Ozzy votes for Chet. Ozzy does not play the Idol. The tally goes as follows: Chet, Chet, Chet, and Chet. Well then.

Next time on…Survivor: Tracy doesn’t give up and Kathy goes even more insane.

I like how no one could get rid of Chet until he gave up. It was like he was saying, “This is ridiculous. I’m by far the weakest person here and what episode is this? Come on, people. Do I have to vote myself out?!” His vote for Erik said it all. He was basically telling them he refused to help them vote out Ozzy or anyone else. He would rather turn on them than intentionally stay on the island.

So we’ve lost seven people and three of them have either quit or gotten hurt. Bah.

This show needs a new leg to stand on.
