And the weak shall inherit the game.
It’s morning in the Favorite camp and Cirie is mad at Ami for voting for her. Ami says it’s because Cirie told Ami she was going to vote for Parvati until right before Tribal Council. Jonathan butts in and more yelling ensues.
Over at Fandom, Jason chops the head off an eel.
Natalie says Chet isn’t pulling his weight. Mikey and Jason talk about it too.
Back with the Favs, Eliza says she’s sick. James and Ozzy talk about how keeping Eliza was a mistake. Eliza overhears them and speaks up but James says, “I know you’re sitting right there, but you’re about to die.”
Eliza says they should be supportive of her so she’ll want to do better in the Challenges and James replies, “You’re sick and you got an attitude?” I love that guy.
At the Reward Challenge the camera shows us a long cage underwater. Oh no, is this one of those terrifying Fear Factor deals where you have to hold your breath and swim through something? But no, you don’t go through the cage, your just move your coconuts to the end of it and pull them out, one at a time. Winner gets three hens and a rooster.
Chet sits out. Ozzy dives first, but instead of grabbing the first coconut for himself, he moves half of the ten to the opening so his team has less diving to do. Genius. The Favorites quickly turn a 2-0 deficit into a 4-2 lead. Ozzy moves the second half of the coconuts to the front so even though the Fans tie it at 7, the Favs finish with a big lead. No drama with the puzzle (James solves it) and the Favs get the chicks.
Kathy is sent to Exile Island again and the Wizard of Ozzy is the volunteer this time for the winners. Kathy says she isn’t interested in looking for the Idol any more. Ozzy tells her he’s going to go hunt for food but instead goes treasure hunting. And sure enough, he finds it!
Ozzy hides the Idol in his hat then sticks it in his bag when Kathy isn’t looking. Next he goes to work pulling a Yau-Man and whittling a fake Idol. It ends up looking like a tent peg or a big pencil. Yeah, that’ll fool ‘em.
Meanwhile, Eliza and Poverty talk. Eliza says Jonathan is a liar and they should vote him out next. Jonathan walks up behind them and hears her. Jonathan tells us he feels sorry for Eliza.
The Immunity Challenge just isn’t going to fit into words. There are locks and keys involved, and everyone’s attached to “a 6-point sliding hub” and they have to move through a course before solving a puzzle. All you need to know is Erik stinks at locks and the Favorites are a well-oiled machine right now. Immunity is theirs.
Mikey B. says he’s going to pretend he’s Joel’s ally and then turn on him before the merge. Mikey pushes for Chet to go. Joel says he’d rather have Kathy out.
Tracy talks to Kathy and Chet about sticking together and not giving up. Chet says his mind is in the game but his body is out of the game. Tracy asks Joel who he’s voting for and he says Chet or Kathy. She asks him about his previous plan to go after Mikey but Joel says that can’t happen right now because they need his strength.
So Tracy tries another approach: “Why are you letting him call the shots right now?” She says she’s angry at Joel for not following through with his plan, and this is his chance to get Mikey before Mikey gets him.
Tribal Council it up! Joel says it’s important to keep their tribe strong. Chet admits he’s been weak in Challenges. Mikey says Chet doesn’t have “the physical capacity to compete.” Tracy points out that no matter which of the oldest people have sat out they’ve still lost. Erik says physical strength isn’t the only way to keep a tribe strong, and Joel agrees.
Jeff gets up to start the voting but Jason interrupts him and asks the group to think about how they’ve lost 4 of the last 6 Challenges and who they need to get rid of to get stronger.
Jason votes for Chet, and Chet and Mikey vote for each other.
The tally goes: Chet, Chet, Mike, Mike, Chet, Mikey (3-3), Michael, Mikey B. And Chet lives to lie around another day. Amazing.
Next time on…Survivor: Tribe swap, physical Challenge, Chet falls behind, Joel says if they were in medieval times they’d kill a certain somebody, Jonathan gets some sort of shot and Eliza thinks he’s going to lose his leg.
Well, well, well. First, you have to give a lot of credit to Tracy. She knew her alliance was in jeopardy so she acted, and she was very crafty in doing it. Did she talk strategy or loyalty with Joel? No. She went straight for his ego. “Look at you letting Mikey call the shots. He owns you, you big wuss. Buh-bawk!”
And Joel bought it. Now he’s on a tribe that has voted two people off and yet his three weakest players remain. It’s like he’s trying to lose on purpose so he gets a higher draft pick or something. But what do you expect from someone who went to Arizona State?
Thankfully, Mark Burnett is stepping in and doing something about it. The good news is it looks like Joel still gets stuck with Chet and the better news is it looks like Joel suffers for it.
Enjoy calling those shots, tough guy.
