What was I going to say here? I forget…
Night 11, and Earl and Yau-Man share thoughts on the location of the Hidden Immunity Idol. Earl says he’ll pull the rest of the tribe away so Yau-Man can dig for it. That seems overly kind.
The next day Earl follows through on his promise and Yau gets time alone at camp. He slowly digs about two inches deep with the machete. Not surprisingly he doesn’t find it.
Earl says Moto is like “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air” while his tribe is like “Good Times.” Dy-no-mite!
For the next Challenge, each tribe gets to pick two items from a prize catalog. Ravu selects fishing gear and potatoes while Moto wants coffee and toiletries. Jeff then announces the winner will get all four prizes.
It’s a “sumo-style” one-on-one shoving contest above a mud pit. Rocky is annoyed at Moto’s laughing and he calls out Dreamz. Jeff lets them do battle in the first round. They bump around for a while before the cheerleader overpowers the guy named after a boxer.
The rest of the matches weren’t even close. Every Moto player dominated every Ravu player, excited Yau-Man defeated Stacy, but even that was close. Ravu got their third set of fishing gear and Earl got sent back to Exile.
Back at Moto, Stacy and Lisi get annoyed because Dreamz doesn’t know how to use the coffee grinder. Stacy says Dreamz and Cassandra don’t have any allies. This bothers Alex because he knows they may need those votes down the road. Edgardo agrees.
Over at Ravu, Rita and Michelle’s girly talk irks Rocky so much he complains to Anthony.
Returning to the Motos, Alex tries to explain to Lisi that even if they go into the merge with a 7-3 advantage, all Dreamz and Cassandra would have to do is join Ravu and the advantage would be lost. Lisi doesn’t care, and neither does Stacy or Boo. Alex is stunned. I feel your pain, my strategical brother.
Sure enough, Dreamz tells us he and Cassandra will switch sides after the merge. He says he can’t wait to put on his “snakeskin boots” and show them some strategy.
The Immunity Challenge is a big game of Memory. There are 30 boards containing 13 pairs and 4 “dummy” boards. Teammates can talk while on the platform but there’s no coaching once a person steps off it.
Moto takes a 2-0 lead but Ravu comes back to tie. We do a sweet fast-forwarding sequence until we’re left with a 6-6 tie with one hidden pair left on the board. It’s Ravu’s turn to pick for the win.
Michelle tries…no match. Edgardo tries for Moto…no match. Rocky picks the correct number…but can’t find the match! Cassandra finally does it and Moto wins…again.
Did you notice that the number 9 that Rocky needed was the very first card that he flipped over on his very first turn?
Back at camp Rocky apologizes for failing on his last turn but says too many people were talking all at once and he got confused.
The Ravus then scramble for votes. Anthony says getting rid of Rocky would ease a lot of tension. Mookie and Yau-Man want to vote out Rita or Anthony. Michelle wants Anthony gone, and Rita, Mookie and Yau-Man agree. Rocky tells Mookie it should be Rita.
At Tribal Council Mookie defends Rocky and says the Challenge wasn’t his fault. Rita says she tries to keep morale up by telling “interesting” stories to keep people “entertained.” Anthony says he’s “uncomfortable” about the vote.
Rita and Anthony vote for each other and the tally reads: Anthony, Rita, Anthony, Rita, Rita…and Rita again. Now she can go find a shirt that fits.
Next time on…WEDNESDAY MARCH 21! There’s no episode next week, and the following week is a day early because of the basketball tournament.
We have a tribe swap and Rocky chooses Dreamz for his team. There is a random draw for the good beach.
It makes me laugh that they decided to show us so much of the big twist in the preview. It was like Burnett was saying, “I know, I know, we kept the sorry tribe together two episodes too long. Please come back after the week off and things will be better, I promise.”
Here’s mud in your eye.
