Survivor 14 Episode 4

Who’s comfortable now?

Night 8, and Rocky yells at Anthony, saying he whines like “a broad.” Anthony tells the camera he developed “self-loathing” as a child. Anthony weeps.

The next day over at Moto, Lisi says she has an alliance with Boo, Alex, Edgardo and Stacy. Gary says his head is spinning all the time, and his legs are all bit up. Cassandra weeps.

Lisi tells us she doesn’t want to have to “baby-sit” Gary.

The Reward Challenge is that old team-building exercise where everyone’s on a beam above the water and you have to pass by each other without falling off. The extra rules are you can’t touch the beam with your hands and you can’t touch more than one person at a time. The winners get some huge fish, rice, spices, pillows, blankets and…a bed?! Thriver indeed.

Gary and Cassandra sit out, and the up-close-and-personal action begins. Jeff says, “Michelle working Rita now,” and warm-blooded males everywhere just nod.

Lisi falls a lot so Dreamz tells the people being passed to squat down. Ravu takes a 2-0 lead! Is this the day everything changes?

No.

Ravu falls apart and starts bickering again. Dreamz’ plan works and Moto scores 6 unanswered points to win. Yau-Man is Exiled.

Back at camp Rocky goes nuts, yelling and throwing things. He tells us he’s “skinnier than homeless people.” Well, Dreamz is pretty big. Earl and Anthony go off and complain about Rocky complaining instead of working.

That night at Moto, Liliana gives massages. Lisi says she knows what Liliana is up to because she is Latin too. Really? Huh.

Day 10, and Gary has to call in the medics again. They take him away.

Over at Ravu, Rocky gets naked. Then he puts on women’s clothes. That’ll motivate the tribe.

Jeff announces that Gary has officially smurfed it and is out of the game. The Immunity Challenge is getting your people out of floating cages, canoeing, and building a human pyramid. The winners also get a secret note.

Lisi sits out. Yau-Man is slow, Rita is slower, Moto builds a big lead and wins yet again.

Now for the note: The winners have to decide if they want to keep Immunity or live at the good camp! And they choose to give up Immunity!!

Who will pay for their arrogant softness? Dreamz calls everyone together and says, “We ain’t snakes yet.” He does his best Shane Powers and says they should openly decide who’s getting voted out. He concludes, “I ain’t pointing no fingers,” then he points his fingers at Cassandra and Lisi as the two people they can most afford to lose. I’ve never liked this strategy and never will.

We see a snake crawl out of its own mouth to shed its skin. That was fascinating and utterly disgusting at the same time.

Boo, Alex, Lisi and Stacy talk. Alex wants Cassandra out as the weakest person but the others think Liliana is dangerous.

At Tribal Council Lisi talks about Dreamz’ “soliloquy.” Cassandra says she thinks Liliana will go far in the game. I don’t think it’s a good idea to be complimenting your chopping block competition.

Liliana votes for Cassandra, Cassandra votes for Lisi, and Lisi votes for Liliana. It’s the anti-circle of life.

The tally reads: Liliana, Lisi, Cassandra, Liliana, Liliana, Liliana. She is shocked.

Next time on…Survivor: “Moto starts to fracture,” Yau-Man digs, Rocky challenges Dreamz, and they appear to be in some sort of fighting Challenge.

I said we needed a twist and we got it. A very subtle one, but it worked perfectly. Nothing shakes up the game like the ruling class getting prematurely cocky and that’s exactly what happened to Moto. You should never give up Immunity in the game of Survivor. Why pass up the only guarantee in a game where nothing’s guaranteed?

Liliana assumed she was safe, and that last night on the comfortable bed cost her a lot.

Maybe even a million bucks.
