Survivor 12 Episode 11

A mastermind is born.

But first, Cornell writes in and says, "Bruce is constipated, Shane is aggravated and Courtney is clueless. I am loving this one." I agree. All the rule tweaks have been successful in creating fresh new drama. And let's say Courtney is alienated to complete your fine piece of poetry.

Day 28, and Shane pretends some driftwood is his "Blackberry." He types in text messages and hits the send button. On a piece of wood.

The Reward Challenge again divides them into two teams. This time we have Terry, Danielle and Courtney vs. Cirie, Aras and Shane. They are clipped to a rope, which they have to follow through an obstacle course in the water. The winners get a barbeque feast.

This one is over quick. Cirie gets tangled up and her teammates can't figure it out. Jeff lovingly yelling, "Get your asses out of the water!" doesn't help either. They show us a bunch of needless footage but T, D and Co win by a mile. Terry gets the two girls to agree to send Aras to Exile Island, and Shane and Cirie are sent back to camp.

But wait, there's more! Jeff tells the three winners they will now compete in an individual Reward Challenge…for a car! One of them will be getting a GMC Yukon.

Did anyone else immediately think, "Don't do it, Terry"?

The game is your basic slingshot Challenge in a race to break three targets. After a couple rounds, everyone has broken one tile. Terry and Courtney each get their second. Courtney misses her next shot and, sure enough, Terry brings home the automobile. Will the Curse of the Car live on?

As they eat, the ladies don't seem bitter that Terry won. He tells them he'd do anything to get the three of them together to the end. Courtney agrees it'd be great. She tells us she's been thinking about aligning with Terry because it'd be easy to beat him in the final. Really? Why, because he's lazy and never wins anything?

Back at camp, Shane tells Cirie if Terry wins Immunity they'll vote out Danielle. Cirie tells us that Shane could beat Courtney in the final but not anyone else, so she wants Courtney out so she can get farther. At first that doesn't make sense until you realize that Cirie realizes she's not going to win any Immunities, so her only hope is for someone to choose her for the final two, so she must eliminate attractive competition like Courtney, so the biggest threats to her are the weakest players instead of the strongest. That is backwardly brilliant.

Cirie decides to go fishing and she screams as she squashes the snail she's using as bait. But she catches a fish! A big one! Then she hilariously drags it back to camp, still on the hook, because she doesn't want to touch it. Awesome.

Day 30, and Danielle tells Terry she doesn't want to settle for third. Terry tells her the three of them could make a pact that whoever wins the final Immunity Challenge will bring the second place finisher in the Challenge before the jury.

Danielle likes that idea and tells Courtney about it, who then gets offended because Danielle is implying that Courtney wouldn't be earning her trip to the final if she made it.

Danielle runs Terry's offer by Cirie. Cirie tells her Terry would take Courtney anyway so they should vote out Courtney without telling Terry. Cirie tells us Courtney is going home one way or another. "Buleedat."

The Immunity Challenge is sitting on your knees on a platform suspended above water while holding onto two ropes which are attached to a total of 20% of your body weight. If you let go of the ropes you fall into the water and are out.

Shane loses one rope early on and humorously tries to grab it as it swings toward him. He falls a full 13 minutes into the Challenge. After 15 minutes another 10% of their body weight is added and Cirie drops out, followed by Danielle. Aras gives up after 23 minutes.

That leaves Terry against Courtney and she's looking good. At the 30-minute mark more weight is added for a total of 40%. Jeff says that makes 68 pounds for Terry and 48 pounds for Courtney. That means they weigh 170 and 120 pounds respectively, if you're keeping score at home.

Courtney puts up a valiant fight with her buck-twenty but it's not enough to keep Terry from his fourth straight Immunity.

Now the fun begins. No caca is going to save Casaya from a decision this time. Pay attention, cuz this gets confusing:

  • Courtney tells Cirie they're going to vote for Aras but make Shane think they're voting for Danielle.
  • Terry says he, Courtney and Danielle are voting for Aras.
  • Shane tells Cirie, Courtney and Aras they're voting out Danielle.
  • Cirie want to foil both Terry and Shane's plans so the talks to Aras and Danielle about dumping Courtney. She spells it out like this: Shane votes for Danielle, Terry and Courtney vote for Aras, while Cirie, Danielle and Aras vote for Courtney.

Got it?

Tribal Council, and Bruce is back! Great news.

Terry says the Reward trip was a break from the game but Cirie doesn't buy it. Terry says no one has approached him with a deal because Casaya is still tight. Jeff tells Aras he's their best chance to beat Terry and Aras agrees and hopes the others see that. Jeff reminds Courtney of the un-popularity contest but she says it's too early for people to worry about who they're taking to the final.

Cirie votes for Courtney and says she can't settle for third or fourth.

Terry votes for Aras and says he's a great rival.

Shane votes for Danielle, saying, "You get to eat as much as you want and I will never yell at you again."

Courtney votes for Aras and adds, "Namaste," which I believe is yoga talk for, "Class is over. Now get out of here."

The tally goes: Aras, Danielle, Aras, Courtney, Courtney, and the last vote is for…Courtney! "That was a shocker," she says. Namaste.

Next time on…Survivor: Aras and Cirie try to smooth things out with Shane (again), Aras gets fed up with Terry and "Shane is brought to his knees," as he appears to be crying.

Take a look back at the final bullet point. Cirie correctly predicted every single vote, and she wasn't guessing. To call her a Fishmonger at this point is an insult. The Fishcatcher is running things.

Buleedat.
