Survivor 11 Episode 9

Will our seeking Survivors find what they're looking for?

Night 21, and it's like a new Jamie showed up. He's talking calmly with Bobby Jon and saying that his feelings were really hurt during Tribal Council. Jamie says being told he has no class is like being called "white trash." Bobby Jon is calm as well and the two of them shake hands. Let us all live in white trash harmony.

The Reward Challenge is using a stick thing to throw an arrow at a target pole. Everyone will get food but what you get is determined by how close you get to the target. The winner will get steak and lobster, as well as a clue for finding the hidden Immunity Idol.

Judd is the first thrower and he ends up only seven feet from the pole. Everybody else comes up short of that and Judd is the winner. The final order after him is Cindy, Danni, Jamie, Stephenie, Gary, Rafe, Bobby Jon, Lydia.

But Jamie speaks up and says, because of his actions yesterday, he wants to take the worst meal and let everyone else move up a slot. Jeff allows him to do so. Jamie says, "We're one tribe now. I'm sorry I didn't see it sooner." Very interesting.

They go to the outdoor café and--oh my goodness! Are they eating dogs?! Oh wait, no, the animals just live there. Here's the meal list:

The second place throw.

Judd: steak, lobster, open bar
Cindy: chicken and veggies
Danni: spaghetti and meat sauce
Steph: hamburger
Gary: slice of pizza
Rafe: ham and cheese sandwich
Bobby Jon: baked potato
Lydia: fish (Jeff makes the fishmonger joke)
Jamie: nuts and lake water

Judd is allowed to invite two people to eat with him and he strangely picks the two returning Survivors. The three of them get dessert and unlimited drinks.

Judd gets wasted. I mean staggering drunk. He tries to move a log back at camp and knocks himself in the head. The next morning we learn that Judd threw up in the shelter (thank you, cameraperson) but he denies it. Yeah, it was some other drunk guy.

Judd shares his clue with Stephenie. It says the Idol is not on the ground, buried or concealed. Then he goes back and tells the rest of the group that it is on the ground. What a strange time to lie.

Jamie goes to Rafe and wants him to promise he won't vote for him. Rafe tells us Jamie is paranoid, and he doesn't think Jamie's food sacrifice was sincere.

Gary quietly tells Jamie, "I will vote with you today," meaning he's ready to vote off Bobby Jon or Danni to save his own hide. But Jamie misunderstands him and thinks Gary's telling him he's going to vote for Jamie! Jamie goes back to his alliance and tells them what Gary said. Yikes, talk about a suck-up backfiring.

Gary tries to stay in bounds.

Stephenie tells Rafe she's losing patience with Jamie and Rafe says he thinks Jamie is literally going crazy.

The Immunity Challenge is a three-part balance course. The first section is a beam and along the way you have to untie two planks tied to the beam. The first four finishers will advance.

In the next section you take your two planks and use them as portable steps to get across some ropes. Picture a ladder being used as a bridge. Now, the long sides of the ladder are rope, and you only get two rungs to walk on, so you have to bring them with you as you move forward. The top two finishers in this leg will advance.

The final part is walking on a rope suspended above water using only another rope (about chest high and parallel to the first one) for balance.

Stephenie is the first person to fall off the first section (head first no less) but she goes back to the start and recovers in time to advance. Gary, Jamie and Rafe join her.

Rafe and Jamie move on to the final with Steph finishing a close third.

Jamie has a lead on the "two line balance bridge" but then Rafe loses his balance and dunks his head into the water and Jamie wins Immunity.

Step by step.

The Nakum 6 say that Gary is next to go because Jamie is mad at him (too funny), then Bobby Jon. Stephenie wonders aloud why the game seems so easy. She just ensured herself a wicked twist in the near future.

Gary pulls Steph aside and wants to know if he's going tonight. She lies and says she'll tell him if she finds out but that she doesn't know right now.

Bobby Jon goes to Judd and Jamie and tells them Stephenie is their biggest threat in the game so they should watch out for her. They tell him he's not going home tonight.

Judd goes off to look for the hidden Idol and Gary sneaks up on him. Gary notices Judd looking up in the trees and figures out that Judd lied to them. Beautiful!

At Tribal Council Jeff asks the dumbest possible question: Have you lied? Think about it…when would the answer ever be yes? Either you didn't lie and you honestly say no, or you did lie and you say no anyway because you're a liar! Gary says he's never lied in the game. Judd says, "No sir….not yet." Oh man, what an idiot. Cindy says they'll all be liars before the game's done.

Jeff asks if anyone's found the Idol. Everyone looks around at each other.

And Gary pulls it out!! Awesome. Jeff says no one can talk and they have to immediately vote.

Jamie votes for Bobby Jon and says, "Wow. Sorry." Bobby Jon and Danni vote for Stephenie. Stephenie votes for her Palau buddy.

The tally goes: Steph, Steph, Cindy (huh?), Bobby Jon, Bobby Jon, Bobby Jon, Bobby Jon and Bobby Jon. The Six smoothly stuck to plan B and Gary cast his butt-kiss vote away from Stephenie.

The last we'll see of
Bobby Jon…we think.

Bobby Jon says he's learned a lot about communicating on this "remarkable and amazing and amazing adventure."

Next time on…Survivor: Jamie continues to be mad at Gary, everyone crawls through the mud for the "best Reward yet", and Lydia is "put on the spot."

The big question now is: How is Gary going to use his one powerful bit of information? He can show everyone where he found the Idol (which they better show us) and prove that Judd lied about the clue, even to his alliance-mates. Will it be enough to turn Rafe or even the paranoid Jamie against Judd?

Let's hope it's an amazing and amazing episode.
