They've got to save Ulong this time…right?
Day 16 and Stephenie continues to hope for a merge. She also says she trusts her alliance with Bobby Jon.
Over at Koror, Gregg and Coby laugh while Tom does crunches. Then Ian brings in a huge clam and they eat a bunch. They leave the clam shell in the water and it attracts a shark. Tom grabs the machete--and kills the shark with it! Holy Michael Skupin, Batman! Tom has shark blood all over him. Guess those crunches worked.
Ian laughs about Tom always one-upping him. He says now he'll have to "get a humpback whale or something." They eat a ton again.
Treemail arrives on Day 17 and says they're doing the SOS Challenge. The tribe that creates the most visible signal will have a Reward dropped from a plane.
The Ulong 3 take their bathroom apart to build a big burning "ULONG." Bobby Jon knows they're at a disadvantage but, "We're going to see if work can overtake smartness."
Koror chooses Gregg, Katie and Caryn to work on their signal. They set up further down the beach in a more open area. "Got food?" is their message. They also plan to have it burning, using rope soaked in kerosene. Coby watches and hopes they don't wait too long to start the fire.
Jeff and a "certified drop master" fly over Ulong. Bobby Jon turns gets even crazier than normal and runs out into the water to wave at the plane. Master "Bob" says their signal is good but it's set back too close to the tree so you can only see it when you're right above it.
Koror sees the plane coming and tries to light their fire but it goes out. Bob says their signal is bigger and out further into the open area. That's right, Koror wins again.
Their care package contains military food rations, wine, and fishing equipment. The full get fuller.
Jenn says she's going to get water and Gregg says he'll go along. He asks if he should wear his date clothes. On the way he asks her if she's worried about what the others think about the two of them and she says no.
Jenn tells us she thinks Gregg is being "standoffish" because he's trying to play the game. He tells us he's keeping her at arm's length on purpose. Jenn tells us there is a potential romance there and she wants Gregg to "loosen up a bit." So, as usual, we have a male and female wanting two different things out of a relationship. Will this one end ugly?
Day 18 and Ulong gets food from the sea. Bobby Jon gets a clam and a small fish. It's like a Happy Meal compared to the fillet mignon that Koror's been eating. The Ulongs don't know that however so they're feeling better about themselves.
Treemail is one of those fifteen-tiles-in-sixteen-spaces sliding puzzles. I don't think a mental Challenge is going to give Ulong the advatage either.
They arrive at the Challenge site to find a huge floating version of their puzzle. Always impressive.
Ian sees that James is missing from Ulong and says, "You ain't lyin'!" I miss James. "And then…Ibrehem."
Jeff asks Ulong how they're doing with food. Bobby Jon proudly says they caught a fish, but they can't be out there too long because they're afraid of sharks. Koror laughs and Katie tells how they ATE a shark. Can't we give Ulong just one day of self esteem?
For the game, one person will give directions from a platform, and two others will move the pieces in the water. Coby is doing the calling for Koror, and Janu and Jenn are his movers. Bobby Jon is the caller for Ulong. Is that really wise?
The answer is no. Steph tries to help from the water but they're not getting anywhere. Coby has Koror moving right along. After a half hour, Jeff tells Ulong it doesn't even look like they've started. Bobby Jon gives way to Stephenie. Do they have a chance?
The answer is no. Koror. Wins. Again. That's six straight Immunities. I think Ulong's problem is they have too many waiters from Alabama.
Back at camp, Ibrehem says, "This has to be a record." You think? Stephenie asks Bobby Jon if he's still voting with her and he admits he's uncertain. "So you're not sticking with your word then?" she asks.
Stephenie goes to Ibrehem and tells him Bobby Jon has alliances with both of them so she'd be willing to vote with Ibrehem against Bobby Jon, "If you want." Ibrehem says he doesn't know either.
Tribal Council. Jeff has lost his voice, probably from laughing at Ulong all day. He asks Bobby Jon why they picked him to run the Challenge. He says he blew it. Jeff reminds them that they've lost to a different group of people every time. It stings.
Bobby Jon says he's still not sure who to vote for. Jeff asks why he would vote for Stephenie and he says because she's a threat.
Ibrehem says he's loyal and honest "for the most part." Way to build their trust.
Stephenie says she's going to vote strategically to help herself. Wouldn't it be hilarious if there was a three-way tie?
They can't show us any votes so we jump to the tally: Ibrehem, Stephenie, Bobby Jon. Just kidding. The last vote is for…Ibrehem! Stephenie thanks Bobby Jon.
Next time on…Survivor: Rats attack Koror. It's kind of funny they chase after sharks but run from rats. Coby gets mad at all three women, and "Bobby Jon is turning into a caveman."
Now the question is: How can you have Tribal Council with only two people? It's not mathematically possible. They just HAVE to merge and put Ulong out of its misery…right? Please?
Pity-full,
Scott
