You better get comfortable cuz this one is really, really good.
Night 33 and Ian knows an all-female alliance is what he and Tom have to avoid. He thinks Caryn is loyal to Tom, and he still thinks Katie has loyalty to him! Ian causes a lot of head scratching this week.
The next morning Tom goes to work on Caryn. He tells her because Katie wavered he wants Caryn to go with him and Ian to the final three.
Meanwhile, Jenn and Katie talk to Ian about turning on Tom. He says he understands what he's saying but he doesn't want to go against his word. He says he wants Caryn out next.
Tom and Ian go and get treemail. Tom wants to have a plan in case one of them wins the Reward and gets to choose someone. He knows they can't leave all three women alone. But they disagree on which woman to take. Tom suggests Caryn but Ian wants to bring Katie. Tom asks if they still can trust Katie, and Ian says yes.
At the Reward Challenge they're playing for--holy cow, a new Corvette! Are you serious? They've come a long ways from the Pontiac Aztek days. If that wasn't enough, the winner also gets a night at a huge mansion.
The Challenge is maneuvering an individual raft out to retrieve five bags. Each one contains a mileage number, which then must be arranged to match the major city (like London, New York, etc.) that distance from Palau.
After the first round, Tom and Ian are neck and neck for first, and the women are way behind. Ian maintains a tiny lead after bringing back each bag. As they both bring in their fourth bag Tom tries to save time by tossing his bag into the bucket, but he misses! Tom has to get off his raft and retrieve the bag giving Ian a bigger lead.
Ian fills out his mile sign and calls Jeff over. He's right on his first try! Ian kisses his brand new car.
Sure enough, he gets to bring one person with him. Sure enough he takes…Tom?!? Even Tom doesn't look happy about it. That was a big mistake on Ian's part.

And just like clockwork, the women talk about an alliance. Katie is really upset and wants to turn on the guys. Caryn tells them she's in but she tells us she's still not sure. Interesting.
When the gentlemen return the next morning, Caryn runs out to meet them. She asks point blank who their third person is, her or Katie. Tom says it's her because Katie wasn't loyal. But Ian says, "I can't give you an answer now." Tom again isn't pleased. Right after Caryn leaves he tells Ian, "You just gave away her vote tonight." Chalk up another big blunder for dolphin boy.
Ian goes to Katie and says they need to talk. She tells him that's the last thing she wants to do right now. He finally realizes how bad he's screwed this up.
They finally go off to talk and Katie just eats him alive. She brings out the tears, the talk about how he was her closest friend on the island, basically every woman trick in the book. And he crumbles. He grovels. He snivels. He apologizes and promises her friendship for life.
That made me ashamed of my gender.
Day 36 and Caryn confesses to Tom there's talk of an all-female alliance. So Tom goes and threatens Katie! He says if she turns on them, whichever man is left will get her voted out next as payback. "Tom sucks today," Katie says. "He's being mean."

Shame.

Tom then lets Ian have a little bit. "If you think Katie's with us you're crazy." This is awesome!
Ian is starting to lose it. He tells the camera he has no idea what he's going to do and he's even thinking about voting off Tom.
The Immunity Challenge is also great. You have to cross a wobbly bridge, walk on floating pontoons, and use a rope bridge to get to a set of about 24 unique symbols. You then return to the start and arrange your tiles in the exact order of the puzzle. Each person's order is different so cheating isn't an option. You can go back and forth as often as you want. If you call Jeff over but you're wrong, you have to return to the key before making changes.
Jenn keeps up with the boys at the start. Ian and Tom set up one part of the puzzle then go back. Jenn tries to do the whole thing, but goes back for another look without making a guess.
Ian says he's done. Wrong!
Tom says he's done. Also wrong!
Ian makes some changes and calls Jeff over again. Still wrong!
Tom's turn. And he's right! Another Immunity! How could Jenn not even get a guess off? Lame.

Ian's odds are now thinner than he is.
Back at camp Ian continues to beg for Katie's forgiveness. She continues to beat him like a dog. Attention young single men: Pay attention to this! Who broke the Reward alliance by knocking the other person out of the Challenge? The woman. Who plotted to break the voting alliance over cocktails on a yacht? The woman. Who is getting his butt kicked and taking 200% of the blame? The man. Are you writing this down?
Caryn says she's in with the women now, but she's not sure she can trust Katie. They are an unlikely pair, that's for sure.
Tribal Council is just nuts. Katie starts by up and saying Ian broken his promise with her by taking Tom on the Reward. Ian says it was a big mistake, even bigger than the context of the game because he betrayed a friend. I hang my head in shame.
Then Caryn joins in and announces it was Ian's idea to turn on Katie after Gregg's Reward. She's completely throwing Ian under a bus!
Ian's stunned. He tries to counter by saying the plan was only to vote off Gregg, nothing more. "Baloney," Caryn says. She adds that Ian didn't trust Katie which is why he didn't tell her about their plan until right before they left for Tribal Council. She is going for blood. This is amazing!
They have to vote before someone gets hurt. Ian votes for Caryn saying, "Best three seconds of my day." Caryn returns the favor.
The tally reads: Ian, Caryn, Caryn…CARYN??? What?!!! Ian survived all that?!
Now I'm stunned.

Jeff congratulates the final four and says, "I can't wait to see how this plays out." Indeed.
That's the best episode I've seen in a while. Beautiful stuff. The majority of my viewing group didn't like Caryn's performance one bit. I think it was brilliant. She said herself she knew Katie wasn't trustworthy so she did everything she could to turn her against Ian. I've always wondered why players don't throw open the skeleton closet more often. Many times your strongest weapon is simply telling the truth.
So what on earth happened? How did Ian get Katie's vote back? On top of that, we learn he had Jenn voting for Caryn too. How'd he pull that off?
In the preview for Sunday we see a night shot of Ian and Tom talking. Ian says, "I told them that I was going to vote you out." Bingo. Ian has sold his soul to the devil in a pink bathing suit.
I love this game.
